Instructor Profile Notices

When you set up an instructor’s profile, you have the option to send out a profile notice to the instructor. A profile notice contains three pieces of information:

 

  1. It informs the instructor that they now have a profile on your Lumens system, and that this profile can be used to access their profile on your site.

  2. The instructor’s user name that they input in the sign in page.

  3. The instructor’s password that they input in the sign in page.

 

Profile notices can either be sent by e-mail, or printed and then mailed to the instructor.

 

There are two ways that you can choose to send an instructor a profile notice by e-mail:

 

  1. During the initial site setup for Lumens, you can choose to have profile notices automatically sent to instructors by e-mail when their profile is first set up.

  2. If you want to manually send out an instructor’s profile notice, or if you need to resend a profile notice:

 

  1. Click INSTRUCTORS, instructor profiles.

  2. Click the Profile Notice action link next to the name of the instructor.

  3. If the instructor has an e-mail address, the “e-mail” checkbox will be filled automatically. If you want to e-mail the profile notice click Submit, otherwise uncheck the e-mail box, and check the print box.

  4. Click Submit.

  5. If the instructor does not have an e-mail address, the e-mail box will be grayed out, and the print box automatically filled.
