Canceling a Registration

There are two events that can lead to a registration cancellation:

 

 

This section discusses how to process cancellations for individual students.  

 

  1. Click either REGISTRATION, student management or STUDENTS,  student management.

  2. A list of students appears. Locate the student by using the Search feature or by browsing for the student using the <<previous and next>> links at the bottom of the display.

 

 

  1. Select the field in the Action column; if the student has an active registration that is available to cancel, then Cancel will display in the list of options; select Cancel.

  2. Lumens will display a list of classes that are available to cancel. Click Cancel for the appropriate class.

 

 

  1. Review the Cancel Registration Transaction Review display, which includes the user’s profile information and the name of the class to cancel. If you wish to refund applicable materials fees or registration fees, choose Yes for the appropriate fee. Choose whether you want to charge the cancellation service charge.  

  2. Click Submit.

 

  1. Cancel Registration Transaction Review Step 2 summarizes the order.  The suggested amount to be refunded appears in the Suggested refund amount field. If the difference between the suggested refund amount and the override amount exceeds the Maximum Override Variance Amount set in Cancellation Policies an error window will appear.

  2. If the original registration was paid by a split payment, you can elect to split the refund between payment methods.  Select the refund types and amounts in the Refund option #1 and Refund option #2 sections.

  1. Click Submit.

  2.  The Cancel Registration Transaction Summary contains a summary of the cancellation, including student information. Click Print View if you wish to print a copy of the transaction summary.

 

 

Note:

  • Registration payments will be determined by Membership Benefit Applies To setting whenever membership registrations are assigned Membership Benefit = Member May Take.

  • Registration Payments will be determined by Membership Benefit Applies To setting and whether a portion of the registration price exceeded the benefit amount if membership registrations are selected as Membership Benefit = Member May Spend.

 

 

 

Note: If you select Check as the refund option, fill in the Check Name, Check Address 1, Check Address 2, Check City, Check State, Check Zip and Check Zip+4 fields.

 

Cancel Program Section Registration Transaction Review

 

Note: 

 

  • Staff Members can cancel Certificate Program Section registrations while considering the Funding Source allocations that were used during registration.

 

 

 

  1. Click Registration > Student Management.

  2. Lumens would return Students screen page.

  3. Select Cancel from the select list.

  4. View Registration Details screen would display along with Cancel option. Choosing Select Certificate would return Current Certificate Registrations for [Student Name] screen.

  5. User will select all the classes in a Certificate Program Section and then select the ‘Submit’ button. This will return the ‘Cancel Registration Transaction Review’ screen.

 

 

 

Note:

 

The question ‘Display this certificate information to student?’ is only relevant for normal certificates. For normal certificates, the student can be awarded the certificate even if the classes are registered through OE registration. The staff can decide whether or not to show the certificate information section in the student’s Current Registration and Transcripts tabs. If this setting is No, the certificate details will not be displayed in Student transcript and current registration even if the student has completed all required classes. If it is yes, the certificate information section will be displayed as soon as the student registers in one of

the classes required for completion of the certificate. For FT certificates, this setting is not required as we will not let the student see the Certificate information if not registered through FT Certificate registration process.
